Maarud focuses on creating good taste experiences so that you can enjoy life that little bit extra. We also know that too much salt, fat and additives are not ideal. That is why we always strive to make our products healthier without compromising on taste.
We will continue to reduce salt
Since 2015, we have removed 49 tonnes (24 per cent) of salt from our products. Maarud was part of the Salt Partnership initiative from the start until it ended in 2021. This not only led to a reduction of salt in our products – we also helped increase people’s awareness in terms of salt and good health.
We do not use any palm oil and we produce all our snacks in Sør-Odal using a mix of sunflower and rapeseed oils. Since 2009, we have reduced the proportion of saturated fat by more than 80 per cent. We also do not use any smoke flavourings in our products, and in 2025 we will eliminate flavour enhancers and non-natural aromas from the remaining products that still contain these.
