Locally sourced potatoes of the finest quality
When you open a bag of Maarud Potetgull, you can be sure that the chips come from the best potatoes, grown not very far from our factory. Locally sourced and produced is always a good choice for the environment – and for the quality of the product.
Most travel less than 110 km
The area around our factory in Sør-Odal, where the beautiful Glomma River flows, is Norway’s largest potato-growing region. In fact, eight in ten of the potatoes we use are grown within a radius of just 110 km from our production facilities next to Maarud Gaard. 4 per cent come from Maarud Gaard’s own fields.
Our 65 skilled farmers cultivate the potatoes with care, expertise and passion. Short Norwegian summers and challenging soil conditions mean this is no easy task. But their dedication creates the foundation for Maarud Potetgull’s great taste.
Cooperation across generations
Many of the farms that supply us with potatoes have been doing it for several generations. We also have our own agronomy department that works closely with the farmers to cultivate the potatoes in a sustainable way. Our agro team also makes sure to test the quality of the incoming potatoes and store them in the best possible way.
